The sector in the municipality works for the quality of education, based on what Comrade Fidel expressed when he said: “As education is the instrument par excellence in the search for equality, well-being and social justice, You can better understand why I qualify as a profound revolution what today, in search of higher objectives, takes place in education in Cuba: the total transformation of society itself, one of whose fruits will be the comprehensive general culture, which it must achieve to all citizens. Management by objectives consists of defining the key areas of results for the organization and for each of the management positions; formulate, in a coordinated and negotiated way, goals and convert them into measurable objectives, expressed in results to be achieved in a given period of time, establish action plans to achieve the objectives and control your progress towards them.
The Municipal Directorate of Education is the Organism of the Municipal Administration Council, in charge of directing, executing and controlling the application of the State and Government Policy in the educational activity.
The municipality has a total of 53 educational institutions, including: 1 Children's Circle, 43 primary schools (11 zonal addresses in multigrade conditions), 2 mixed centers, 2 basic secondary schools; 1 ESBEC, 1 ESBU, 1 special school, 1 IPA, 1 Adult center, 1 IPR and a language school. Distributed by the 6 Popular Councils, with 1081 workers and a total enrollment of 2,643 children, adolescents, youth and adults of all education, of them 1,465 external, 719 semi-internal and 459 with internal regime.
We also have 893 girls and boys from the Educa a Tu Hijo Program, with 420 females and 473 males.
The methodological structure of the municipality is made up of 55 officials, of them 40 methodologists among the different educations, 8 advisers, 5 heads of areas and 2 deputy directors, present the category of master 22, for 40.0% and the remaining 60% are graduates, with Management experience 49 for 89.09%.
We have 24 directors of centers and areas, with the category of master in education 11, for 45.8%.
