With the new administrative political division from 1976, in 1979, the Aqueduct and Sewerage UEB of the municipality of Niceto Pérez arose, an entity located in La Yaya, the head community of the municipality and subordinate to the Company of Aqueduct and Sewer of Guantánamo, providing its service from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am-12:00pm and from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm, with telephones 21593484 - 21593236.

In its hydrography a total of 7 rivers are located, 3 of which originate outside the locality.
The main source of water supply is the La Yaya Dam, the largest freshwater reserve in the province, which extends occupying a normal area of 13.3 km2 and a maximum of 154.4 km2, with a storage capacity of 160 x 106 m3 and It is capable of delivering 147.5 x 106. m3
per year. Today it has 61 million cubic meters. This engineering work feeds downstream, the Popular Councils of La Yaya, Vilorio and El Silencio.

The Aqueduct and Sewer UEB provides potable water service to 7 074 inhabitants, representing 47% of the total population; with a water balance of 2 931 666.02 hectometer (Hm3) of it for the residential sector 437 957.96 hectometer (Hm3) and the state sector 139 741.21 hectometer (Hm3) with a consumption standard for the urban aqueduct of 160 liters / inhabitants and the rural sector 145 liters / inhabitants.
Balanced water is delivered through 10 electric pumping stations and 3 rebounds with solar panels that operate by gravity, located in 5 of the 6 Popular Councils of which there are 2 chlorine gas and 8 hypochlorite.
It is important to mention that there are 14 communities with a population of 987 inhabitants; that lack the infrastructure of water supply service per driver, for which a contract is made with the U / P of Communal Services to receive water service in pipes, with a 7-day distribution cycle and 176 trips as average, with a volume of 5 m3 per trip and a consumption demand of 50 liters / inhabitants. 2078.6 km are covered; which causes a fuel cost of 1,412 liters per month.
